Member Social - Hangmanton!

Hi there!

UWBC will be holding the second member social for this term on Friday, Nov. 28th, 2014 during session.

Come out to play the unique game of Hangmanton - a combination of badminton and the popular game of Hangman! You must register beforehand in order to play, so don't forget to sign up. Registration will close on Wednesday, Nov. 26th, 2014.

Fall 2014 UWBC Open Tournament

It's that time again!

UWBC will be hosting an open tournament on Saturday, October 25th, in CIF Gyms 1 & 2. The tournament will run from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Registration is now open, and spots are filling up fast! Registration will close on Wednesday, October 22nd at 11:59 pm.

Saturday, September 20th Session Canceled Due to Volleyball Tournament

Apologies - we just found out that session has been canceled today due to a volleyball tournament. 

The next session will take place on Wednesday, September 24th. 

Please note that there is no session on Sat. Sept. 27th and Sat. Oct. 4th.

Fall 2014 Registration and First Session

Welcome back!

Registration for the club will be held on the following dates:

Sunday, September 14th from 7:00 pm to  9:00 pm in MC 2054.
Tuesday, September 16th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in MC 2034.

Please remember to bring your WATCard and $20 to sign up. You should also bring a signed copy of the waiver form (found here), but there will be copies present at registration for you to fill out.

The first session of the term will be on Wednesday, September 17th, from 8:45 pm to 11:20 pm at the CIF.

Please note: only members who register during the two registrations days listed above will be allowed to play during the first week. Anyone who registers after that will be able to play starting Wednesday, September 24th.

Member Appreciation Night and End of Term Survey

Two small end of term announcements:

1. Member Appreciation Night: If you show up to play this Wednesday (April 2nd) to session at the normal place (CIF) before 10:30, you'll be entered into a draw to win hundreds of dollars of prizes, including Starbucks gift cards, speakers, and a grand prize of a Nintendo 3DS!

2. End of Term Survey: In the interest of improving all things UWBC in the future, we prepared a short survey to get your much needed feedback. Team Quest Member Social

We at UWBC combined elements of scavenger hunts, The Amazing Race, and Running Man into an epic event that we are proud to call… Team Quest!

In this unique UWBC member social, you will put together a team of four players and travel through the UW campus to solve all of the puzzles and complete the many challenges that will be in your way.

$700 in prize money is up for grabs!

The event is open to non-members, but each team must have at least one W2014 UWBC member. The entry fee will be $10 for non-members, and FREE for members.

Member Social #1: Group Trivia Night!

Hello Winter 2014 UW Badminton Club (UWBC) members!

We would like to invite you to our first member social of the term, Group Trivia Night, which will take place on Tuesday, February 4th in the SLC Multipurpose Room from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. This member social will feature over $500 worth of prizes! All you need to do is answer trivia questions and you’ll get an opportunity to win free prizes!

To participate, you will be required to sign-in between 7:30pm and 8pm on the day of the event, and you need to register here:  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1-7JDlzOp_yciayo5XY1xCk512bm503wHHHeeSTQaxbc/viewform Participants will be grouped into random teams.

You can also register during the day of the event, but your spot will not be guaranteed.

If you don’t want to participate but still want free food and prizes, members can come to watch and be entered in a raffle to win draw prizes.

All members will need to present their Winter 2014 membership card to be entered in the raffle prize draw and/or to participate in the Group Trivia.

We will also be providing free snacks and drinks (including hot chocolate!) for all members to enjoy.

Winter 2014 Registration

Happy new year everyone. You are all probably very excited and pumped to play some badminton. Before we jump into it, you need to register for our badminton club. Come out to the registrations days or the first session (W Jan. 15) to sign up or get more details. Registration dates and locations are as follows: Thursday, January 9th from 6:45pm to 8:15pm in the SLC Multipurpose Room Monday, January 13th from 6:45pm to 8:15pm in the SLC Multipurpose Room On the registration days remember to bring your WATcard, $20 cash and a filled out waiver form which can be found on our site here: http://www.badmintonclub.uwaterloo.ca/waiver.pdf. Blank waivers and pens will also be provided during registration. Executive member interviews and sign ups will also be taken place in the same time and location.
